Insert after, insert before
Hover the right half of #20010 and a dashed contact appears beside it with the caption Insert after. The left half gives Insert before. Release to add the contact in series.

Drag-and-drop ladder editing
Contacts, coils, timers, math and data parts live in the palette on the left. I/O names live on the right. Both drag straight onto the rung. Where the pointer sits decides the edit.
Add branch
Slide down into the lower band and the preview changes to a loop under the wire: Add branch. Release and the contact goes in parallel — an OR in the mnemonic listing.
Drop a name, get the address
Drag LT CURTAIN CLEAR from the I/O names pane onto a contact and the caption reads #20010 → #00012. Drop it beside a part instead and you get a new contact already carrying that address.
Rungs go where you point
Drag New rung from the palette. A bar marks the seam and says exactly what will happen: New rung R002 — below R001. Drop on the empty space under the last rung to append.
After the drop
Address first, then the ladder, then the diff
A dropped part is blank, so CIOBench asks for its address on the spot — the relay label fills in from the NAM. R001 picks up an EDIT marker, the mnemonic listing shows the new OR #20011 line in green, and the header counts +1 −0 vs saved. Ctrl+Z takes it back, one step at a time.
One drop later: #20011 in parallel with #20010, status line “Branch added around #20010”, and line 851 OR #20011 added in the listing.
